Well, we are back from our honeymoon and just settling back into the grind, and the very first thing on my list was to get a big THANK YOU to you! We honestly could not have asked for a more beautiful, God centered ceremony. You really made our special day so much more special and we heard nothing but praises about you all night. Thank you for spending so much of your time getting to know us and tailoring our ceremony so much to US!

Again, Evan, thank you so much for everything over the past couple of months.

Love,
Mr. and Mrs. Garland :)

Welcome to my wedding pastor site! I know that planning for this big day can be stressful with a zillion things to plan. I would love to help you plan all the details for the ceremony. I have performed hundreds of weddings here in California, San Diego and Mexico. I have over 25 years of ministry experience and love helping couples through this process. I use the Prepare/Enrich counseling materials that will give you a good evaluation of your relationship before you get married. This is a 165 question survey that covers 11 key areas of relationships. During the counseling sessions, we'll also plan your wedding ceremony to make it personal. I look forward to meeting you and helping you plan your special ceremony.

Please feel free to scroll through this site to look at pictures from some of the many weddings I have performed. There are some quotes from couples, as well as more pictures if you'd like to click on wedding titles on the right.

Poway wedding

Caleb and Kendra Hofseth got married in Poway at The Living Way church. Their reception was at the Civic Center park in Poway on a beautiful October afternoon. That's my daughter by the way, standing with us, not theirs!

Arizona Wedding

This summer I got to head out to Arizona and do the wedding for Sam and Nicole Ryberg. Sam's parents and I have know each other for over 30 years, so it was great fun to be able to do their sons wedding. What a great couple, so happy for them!

San Diego Bay

A few months ago I had the privilege of officiating at the wedding of Cameron and Amber Carter. Cameron's parents are my good friends Craig and Kelley Carter. Kelley and I went to high school together and Craig was one of my first bosses when I worked at Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor. We did the wedding on a beautiful boat right in the harbor in San Diego. It was one of the biggest wedding parties I've seen! What a great evening.

Mission Bay Wedding

Andrew and Marie got married at Mission Bay, east of South Mission Jetty. They picked a great spot, nice and quiet, yet near the water. Andrew told me years ago that his search for a Southern California bride was over. He found Marie in the Philippines, and what a catch she is! They make a great couple and I'm happy for them both.

Oceanside Wedding

Nate and Natalie Mauhili got married in Oceanside in a place I'd never been before. It's called Paradise Gardens and it is quite a beautiful setting. I had no idea there could be such lush gardens, ponds, tree's grass etc. of the 76. It was a storybook setting in that the bride arrived via a horse-draw carriage and after the cermony they both rode off in the same carriage.

"Evan did an amazing job at our wedding! We feel truly blessed to have found him to perform our ceremony. He helped us create a ceremony that was unique and meaningful to us, while still honoring our religious beliefs. We got to know Evan through our pre-marital counseling we did with him; this helped us grow to trust and admire him, making us more comfortable the day of the wedding (and helped our relationship improve in so many ways). We had many guests say that our Pastor performed the best ceremony they had ever seen at a wedding and we couldn’t agree more! We highly recommend Evan, he truly exceeded our expectations!"

Catamaran Wedding, Mission Beach

These Hawaiian themed weddings are my favorite, especially when I get to wear my flip-flops with the suit! That's me on the left.
